Flood planes- The area around a river that can be flooded
Discharge- The amount of water in a river channel at a given time
Flood retention basins- A system which tries to manage storm-water to prevent flooding and downstream erosion

Embankments- A levee, an artificial bank risen above the immediately surrounding land to prevent of stop flooding
Downstream- The moving direction a river flows
Coalition- The temporary alliance of political parties to govern a country
Democratic socialism- Difficult to define, but it's a general belief economy and society should be chosen by the people
